Twenty-two Georgia-Pacific corrugated facilities were recognized by two industry associations for safety. “Perfect Plant” awards for no recordable safety incidents went to plants at: Asheboro, N.C.; Batavia, N.Y.; Doraville, Ga.; Lebanon, Tenn.; Madera, Calif.; Modesto, Calif.; Pelahatchie, Miss.; Santa Teresa, N.M.; West Chester, Ohio; and West Monroe, La. “Safety Excellence” awards for no lost-time injuries went to plants at: Albion, Mich.; Augusta, Ga.; Bradford, Pa.; Cleveland, Tenn.; Harrington, Del.; Huntsville, Ala.; Madera, Calif. (Color-Box®); Milford, N.J.; Mt. Wolf, Pa.; Oshkosh, Wis.; San Leandro, Calif.; and Spartanburg, S.C.

The Muskogee mill was recognized for its community outreach activities.
Pulp and Paper Safety Association
Gaston, N.C., consumer products facility
The Gaston mill was recognized by the Pulp and Paper Safety Association for Best Record for Paper Mills 1 (less than 1 million hours worked annually) after completing the year with no recordable incidents.
USDA Two Chiefs' Partnership Award
Philomath, Ore., wood and fiber supply group
Georgia-Pacific’s wood and fiber supply group was recognized, along with other local, state and federal groups, for its participation in forest stewardship projects on the Siuslaw National Forest along the Oregon coast. Presented by the leaders of the U.S. Forest Service and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the "Two Chiefs' Partnership Award" recognizes outstanding efforts in conservation and forest stewardship.
W.W. Grainger "Green Supplier of the Year"
Georgia-Pacific Professional was named Green Supplier of the Year by its customer W.W. Grainger, Inc., a leading distributor of facilities maintenance supplies. The award recognized Georgia-Pacific Professional's efforts in sustainability. The business also received a Partners in Performance Award for supplier excellence.
Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award
Green Bay (Broadway), Wis., consumer products facility
Employees at Georgia-Pacific’s Green Bay (Broadway) facility received the Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award, which is given by the Wisconsin Safety Council and the Department of Workforce Development to companies based on their safety and health leadership; training programs and implementation; and employee participation. The Broadway mill was recognized in the “manufacturing/largest facility” category.
