GREENGUARD®
Georgia-Pacific's DensArmor Plus® family of interior panels and ToughRock® regular, ToughRock® Fireguard® and ToughRock® Fireguard C® interior panels are GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD GOLD certified for low emissions.

EcoLogo®
Georgia-Pacific Professional has earned EcoLogo certification for a broad range of towel, tissue and napkin products. EcoLogo is a third-party eco-labeling program and one of two standards in North America approved by the Global Ecolabelling Network, an international association of eco-labeling programs, as meeting the ISO 14024 environmental marketing standard.

Georgia-Pacific Professional has Green SealTM certification on a selection of tissue, towel, napkin and wiper products.  The Green Seal (GS-1) standard addresses the primary life cycle issues for sanitary paper products from product performance, raw materials, manufacturing, packaging and use.

Select Georgia-Pacific Professional cups, plates and containers are certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI®) for compostability.*

LEED

Many Georgia-Pacific building products and tissue and towel products may contribute toward certification points in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program. LEED establishes a standard for measurement of green building and sustainability.

SFI
Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) Certified Sourcing
All Georgia-Pacific wood products and corrugated packaging facilities in the United States, as well as all paper, tissue, cellulose, packaging and bleached board products made at GP's primary pulp and paper mills in North America, are certified to the SFI fiber sourcing standard (Section 2 -- SFI 2010-2014 Standard, Objectives 8-20). Many of these pulp and paper and wood products can use the SFI certified sourcing on-product label.

Many GP facilities are certified to the SFI chain of custody standard.  Chain of custody is an accounting process that tracks fiber content through production and manufacturing to the end product.  With a SFI chain of custody certification, a company can make claims about how much of its product comes from certified lands, how much contains recycled content, and how much content is from non-controversial forests.

FSC Controlled Wood®

Many Georgia-Pacific facilities meet the Forest Stewardship Council Controlled Wood standard, which avoids material from unacceptable sources in the production of FSC Mix and FSC Controlled Wood products.  The standard establishes requirements for evaluation and mitigation of risk associated with non-FSC-certified wood sources.

ISO Energy Management
Georgia-Pacific's Steinfurt, Germany, site is certified to the ISO 50001:2001 Energy Management System standard.  This enables Steinfurt to integrate energy management with its overall efforts to improve quality, environmental management and other areas addressed by its management systems.
