Georgia-Pacific offers enriching, summer-long assignments for Accounting, Internal Audit and Tax Interns in diverse functions such as sales and general accounting, corporate and financial reporting, facility-based cost and inventory, internal audit, tax accounting and treasury. Interns have access to business leaders throughout the company, as well as networking opportunities with accounting and finance peers. Professional guidance through mentoring relationships and meaningful involvement with projects across GP’s varied businesses prepares our Interns for a career within the Georgia-Pacific financial organization.
Entry Level Engineering
Georgia-Pacific Entry Level Engineers (ELEs) and Engineering Interns and Co-ops are encouraged to be principled entrepreneurs and challenge the status quo to find innovative solutions to allow GP to exceed our safety and production goals, and maintain our competitive advantage. Entry-Level Engineers and interns will work hands-on with cutting edge manufacturing technology in engaging learning and development roles, with responsibilities such as:
- Investigating and evaluating long-term compatibility of emerging technologies in the manufacturing industry
- Fostering close working relationships with internal and external customers to optimize current technologies and create more value
- Delivering on projects within safety, cost and schedule targets
Entry Level Engineers are also offered opportunities to participate in training modules that provide access to key processes vital to our business.

Entry Level Safety & Health Professional
Georgia-Pacific Entry Level Safety & Health Professionals (ELPs) embark on a capability-building journey designed to prepare them for a career in safety and health at GP. ELPs launch their careers in Atlanta, Ga., with access to the Global Safety & Health Department, and then continue their learning and development at GP manufacturing facilities or with a GP business safety leader. ELPs gain experience through safety and health audits, industrial hygiene surveys and training programs, learning how GP strives for safety and health excellence.
Entry Level Sales Associate
Georgia-Pacific Entry Level Sales Associates (ELSAs) have a unique opportunity to enhance their business skills and prepare for leadership. ELSAs engage in an in-depth study of what it takes to bring a product to market and the specific value of GP Professional brands. ELSAs will experience:
- Participation in the 6-8 week JumpStart on-boarding experience at the corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Ga.
- Exposure to business leaders, manufacturing facilities, departmental operations, and product and service education
- Continuous career training and development
Following JumpStart, ELSAs will transition to an inside sales role and will be responsible for an assigned sales territory.
Entry Level Procurement Specialist
Georgia-Pacific Procurement Specialists are full time, corporate or manufacturing facility-based professionals within the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team. Key areas of focus are safety and mill operations, demand management and operational planning, procurement and storeroom operations, and sourcing. After receiving dynamic, hands-on training, as well as coaching and mentoring on the company’s culture, Procurement Specialists may transition into a Buyer position, or another exciting opportunity that suits their individual capabilities, at one of GP’s nearly 300 facilities.
Human Resources Associate
Georgia-Pacific Human Resources Associate roles are designed for entry level human resource talent to develop and hone their skills in all facets of HR. HR Associates cultivate strategic partnerships with HR and business leaders to advance the capabilities of our workforce. Associates engage in an individualized development plan at a manufacturing facility or our corporate office, which will include access to:
- Hiring Systems and Processes
- Labor Relations
- Affirmative Action
Upon completion of their development plan, HR Associates may be offered an opportunity as an HR professional or manager within a GP manufacturing facility.

Supply Chain & Logistics Internship
Georgia-Pacific Supply Chain and Logistics Interns gain exposure to meaningful work and real-world experience, as well as career paths available within our Supply Chain organization at both manufacturing facilities and the corporate headquarters. Interns participate in hands-on learning in one of the following areas of concentration:
- Production Planning
- Customer Solutions/Customer Logistics Analytics
- Supply Chain Analytics/Deployment
- Import/Export/Freight Forwarding
Interns are provided the opportunity to participate on cross-functional teams and across diverse business units to support process improvement projects and lead development of new procedures and implementation of new ideas.
