Georgia-Pacific Foundation
Investing in Our Communities
Since 2001, Georgia-Pacific and its employees have invested more than $20 million in community programs. This includes cash and product donations, and response to natural disasters and other crises. Additionally, thousands of GP employees volunteer in the community and are part of GP's ServiceForce volunteer group.
A focused strategy
We have no doubt that working directly with local organizations is critical to the success of our community involvement. To maximize our impact, the Georgia-Pacific Foundation and GP operations invest in four key areas:
Education,
Environment,
Enrichment of the Community, and
Entrepreneurship.

The Georgia-Pacific Foundation invests in educational efforts that empower youth, and provide workers with job readiness training. We also invest in scholarships and technical programs that give workers the skills necessary for today's workplace.
GP employees have been widely recognized for their educational efforts. In Atlanta, the company won the Chamber of Commerce's A+ Award for its program at M. Agnes Jones Elementary School. More than 250 GP ServiceForce volunteers tutor and mentor the M. Agnes Jones students, who live in low-income neighborhoods. The partnership has improved the school's performance by 70 percent. |

Our investments support such community needs as affordable housing, historic preservation, arts and culture, youth development, diversity and safety.
Our employees are also engaged in the community and volunteer with various organizations. Additionally, Georgia-Pacific ServiceForce employee volunteers contribute thousands of hours to worthwhile projects through a network of chapters nationwide.

At Georgia-Pacific, we believe a healthy environment is essential to healthy communities and a thriving society. We are committed to 100 percent environmental compliance and invest in organizations that foster environmental responsibility and provide environmental learning opportunities, including those that promote source reduction, recycling, reuse and cleaner air.
To foster environmental sustainability, GP supports private landowners in several states through the Forest MAP assistance program. |

The GP Foundation supports organizations that create long-term value for the community through programs that promote entrepreneurial development while fostering economic and critical thinking skills. We especially focus on initiatives that align with our company's Market Based Management® philosophy.
Our involvement includes partnerships with elementary and high schools; women-owned and minority small businesses; and organizations that promote networking and collaboration among targeted business groups, GP suppliers and our customers. |
