Georgia-Pacific’s Quilted Northern® and Brawny® Brands
Support "The Cure"
For the past 25 years, Susan G. Komen for the Cure (formerly Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation) has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Georgia-Pacific’s support of this organization allows the company to get behind a cause that is meaningful to its consumers and employees alike.Since 2004, Georgia-Pacific’s Quilted Northern Ultra® brand has been a national sponsor of Komen for the Cure and the Race for the Cure® series. The effort raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
As part of its national support, the Quilted Northern brand has donated more than $1.5 million through corporate sponsorships and an on-pack donation program, which donates 50 cents for every redeemed UPC label from Quilted Northern Ultra packages.
Last year, Georgia-Pacific increased its support of Komen for the Cure as the Brawny brand featured special pink ribbon prints and joined the on-pack donation program through an exclusive national arrangement with Kroger supermarkets in the spring and will do so again as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Georgia-Pacific Volunteers for The Cure
On a local level, Georgia-Pacific has proven to be a passionate champion of the Atlanta Race for the Cure. For the fourth consecutive year, Georgia-Pacific had the largest team to participate, with a turnout of more than 1,000 Georgia-Pacific employees, family and friends. As a precursor to the annual event, Georgia-Pacific adorned its headquarters building with a 24-foot pink ribbon and pink lights for a month leading up to the race.
