Strengthening Communities
Georgia-Pacific believes that we serve our communities best when we use our resources to help the community meet the needs of today and build the intellectual and economic capacity to meet the needs of the future. The Georgia-Pacific Foundation is the cornerstone for serving our communities. For many years, our support for Georgia-Pacific communities has focused on strengthening education, sustaining the environment and enriching the quality of life in communities through volunteer efforts of our employees and company initiatives. In 2006, entrepreneurship was added as a focus area.
The Georgia-Pacific Foundation supports organizations that create long-term value for the community and works to help these groups develop entrepreneurial thinking and free market orientation in delivering their expertise to their community. We especially focus on initiatives that align with our company's Market Based Management® philosophy.
We support our communities in several ways—financial support, event sponsorships, in-kind donations and through the volunteer efforts of Georgia-Pacific employees.
