Reduce, Reuse, Recover

We have been using recycled materials for nearly 50 years.

We have found innovative ways to recover and reuse materials that otherwise would end up in landfills. The wallboard we produce that does not meet our standards is recycled back into the process.

We are developing beneficial applications for the very small amount of material left over at the end of each production cycle.

The introduction of the Dens® brand product line more than 20 years ago exemplifies this thinking, and demonstrates our commitment to innovation and sustainable building products.

Thinking Ahead

In the coming years, we will focus attention on several key areas of process improvement. These include improving energy efficiency at our manufacturing plants with innovative technologies that will also result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Other initiatives will focus on opportunities to reduce water use, to reuse water more effectively and to find cost effective ways to further reduce air emissions.
