A Community Advisory Panel (CAP) for GP's Camas mill was created in mid-2001, and has met bimonthly for more than two years. The 12-14 panel members are representative of the community's diverse residents and interests. In this advisory capacity, the CAP has discussed and addressed such subjects as mill water use, permit renewals for operations, mill environmental improvements, and the community-wide warning system. Mill management values the CAP's input, and has taken action on many of the group's recommendations, particularly in increasing the mill's outreach to and interaction with area residents.
