Grant Application Guidelines

Georgia-Pacific Foundation

Georgia-Pacific knows that putting resources back into our communities strengthens them and contributes to our own success as a company. That's why we created the Georgia-Pacific Foundation, which makes investments that improve the quality of life in communities where we operate, and where our employees live and work.

To make a meaningful impact, the Foundation has chosen to support four distinct investment areas and priority initiatives: Education, Enrichment of our communities, Environment and Entreprenuership.

The Foundation cannot support the following requests:

  • Non tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin or gender
  • "Bail-out" funds given to provide emergency assistance to organizations for general operating purposes
  • Individuals, other than through scholarship and community service programs
  • Political causes, candidates and legislative lobbying or advocacy efforts of any type
  • Churches or religious denominations, religious or theological schools
  • Social, labor, veterans, alumni or fraternal organizations serving a limited constituency
  • Organizations requesting goodwill advertising for fund-raising benefits and program books
  • Athletic associations and sporting events
  • General operating support for United Way member agencies
  • National groups whose local chapter has already received support
  • Purchase of tickets/tables for testimonials or similar benefit events
  • Medical and nursing schools
  • Named academic chairs
  • Social sciences or health science programs (college/technical school)
  • Organizations that channel the funds received to third parties
  • Fund-raising events such as raffles, telethons, walkathons and auctions
  • Trips and tours
