Georgia-Pacific's Chemical Division owns and operates 12 manufacturing facilities across the United States, with many located near major markets we serve. A fleet of over 100 tank trucks and 500 rail cars is supplemented by a select group of reliable common carriers dedicated to delivering our products safely and efficiently.
Employees Our facilities operate a wide range of specialty manufacturing processes including formaldehyde and urea formaldehyde concentrate; batch processing of phenol-formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde resins, wet strength resins, surface size, and internal rosin size and rosin derivatives; tall oil fractionation; and custom formulation of tall oil fractionated by-products.
Facility
In addition to our North American operations, we also manufacture formaldehyde, UFC, and thermosetting resins at our plants in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. Through joint venture partnerships, we have a resin manufacturing presence in South Africa and China as well.  

When it comes to manufacturing, our focus is on Quality/Continuous Improvement, Safety, and the Environment.

Safety and Environmental Program

SafetyWorking injury-free and environmental compliance are our top priorities. Our Taylorsville, Miss., and Beaver Creek, Mich., facilities have been recognized by OSHA as Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) sites for achieving exemplary occupational safety and health. Five of our facilities – Albany, Ore.; Columbus, Ohio; Conway, N.C.; Russellville, S.C.; and Vienna, Ga., - have been recognized by the EPA as National Environmental Performance Track (NEPT) members. NEPT recognizes facilities that consistently meet their legal requirements and have implemented high-quality environmental management systems.

We operate our business in accordance with the principles of product stewardship, pollution prevention, and strict compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
