GP Chemicals has developed and sold products in hot melt and grit adhesives for years. Current offerings include NOVARES® tall oil rosin esters which are used for tackifying a variety of hot melt solvent-based and water-based adhesives. Some of the advantages of these products, besides being a pine-based chemistry, are broad polymer compatibility and oxidative stability. Applications in which NOVARES rosin esters are used include adhesives for paperboard packaging, book binding, tape, and labels. LYTOR® tall oil rosin is also used in adhesives as a chemical intermediate.
GP® urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde resins are used for grit adhesion to various substrates in coated abrasives, sandpaper, scrubbing pads and other industrial abrasive applications.
