The phenolic resole resin systems designed by GP Chemicals are used in a wide variety of applications and industries.
GP® resins are used in fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) applications with fire safety concerns or high-temperature requirements such as mine ventilation and offshore water pipe systems. They are also used in automotive, mass transit, rail car and aerospace applications. In these applications, smoke generation and toxicity levels, as well as high-temperature resistance are critical.
Within this line, we offer resins that can process on polyester pultrusion systems. The resins are styrene-free and are thermally cured without the need for external catalysts. GP laminating resins are suitable for use in honeycomb, prepregs and laminates. Our resins for honeycomb are used to reinforce Nomex®, carbon fabric and paper honeycomb and often used for military applications.
In saturating substrates, waterborne GP resins are used for applications that include oil and air filters, cooling water media. Our resin line features properties that include good wicking, abrasion resistance, moisture resistance and durability.
GP Chemicals also manufactures a line of water-soluble and alcohol-soluble thermosetting PF resole resins specifically designed for high pressure laminate applications requiring low emissions, post formability and strength.
Our PF resole resins are also used for wood product applications. These resins include PF products for plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), laminated veneer lumber (LVL), and the LEAF® GB resins for composite panels.
Nomex is a registered trademark of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.
