- Always wrap your liners driving the moisture toward the glue line. This can significantly improve bond, ECT, top to bottom compression, speed, and reduce waste/warp.
- Excessive heat transfer levels exceeding 190 degrees Fahrenheit cause Zipperboard and washboard. To minimize these incidents and increase productivity, always run the corrugator as fast as practically possible for your equipment.
- Keep all of the corrugator's gaps to within +/- .001", and steam heated vessels to a minimum of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Always check all incoming parts for correct diameter, total indicated runout (roundness), and cell volume (BCM).
- Have your adhesive supplier reformulate to a level of 25% oven dry solids or an as received solids level of about 27.5%. At the same time, keep your viscosity at 30 to 40 seconds Steinhall. This will help you achieve maximum levels of bond, speed, and reduce the levels of warp/waste.
