The Georgia-Pacific wood procurement Southeastern Region includes wood-using facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Florida, Georgia and Alabama. General wood specifications, including species, are listed by facility; however, contact the appropriate Georgia-Pacific wood procurement office to receive the complete wood and fiber specifications for a specific plant or mill. Pricing available by contacting the wood procurement office of each wood-using facility.

Fiber Specifications:
Industrial board plants utilize a high percentage of by-products and residuals from other manufacturing processes plus chips from in-woods chipping operations to meet their raw material requirements. Some of the fiber types used include: pine and hardwood shavings, pine and hardwood chips, pine sawdust, clean hogged softwood and plywood trim. Call for specific requirements.

Species: All Southern pine including loblolly, shortleaf, slash and longleaf
Large end diameter: Ranges from a min. of 14" to 16" to a max. of 28" to 30"
Small-end diameter: Large plylogs - min. 7.6", Small plylogs - min. 6"
Lengths: Accept logs in multiples of 8'9" up to 35'; slight deviations are acceptable

Hardwood Plylog Specifications:*
*Warm Springs and Monticello, Ga. produce hardwood veneer in addition to Southern pine plywood. Species: poplar and sweetgum logs
Large end diameter: ranges from a min. of 14" to 16" to a max. of 28" to 30"
