Community Advisory Council

Georgia-Pacific's Green Bay Community Advisory Council meets regularly with mill management. Together, they discuss and provide advice on topics such as the paper industry, facility operations, environmental performance, safety, emergency preparedness, and GP's community commitments

The Council is not a public relations program designed to improve the image of the company, or a policy-making board that directs decisions regarding mill operations. It is an Advisory Council.

Council members bring ideas from the community, particularly from their areas of expertise, to Georgia-Pacific, and make recommendations based on their experience.

The current membership includes 20-plus community leaders from education, business, government, social services, the arts and science (healthcare/environmental science). Advisory Council positions are voluntary - participants do not receive any compensation from Georgia-Pacific.

The quarterly meetings are led by a professionally trained facilitator. Typically, Georgia-Pacific staff members provide information on a specific topic, and Advisory Council members have the opportunity to ask questions. Then GP management asks Council members for their thoughts on specific issues pertaining to the mill and the community.
