Nature Knowledge in Schools – Are We Doing Enough? An Expert Panel Weighs In
Environmental education is something Georgia-Pacific is passionate about, since we are a company that uses natural resources every day. To discuss what more can be done in the school curriculum to inspire children to learn about the environment at an early age, Georgia-Pacific recently hosted a panel of environmental and educational experts to lend their perspectives.
The panelists included: Jenn Savedge, writer of The Green Parent and family blogger for Mother Nature Network; Erin Klein, 2nd grade teacher and writer for educational technology blog Kleinspiration; and Bobby Maddrey, wildlife program manager for Georgia-Pacific. Moderated by Anna Hackman, sustainability consultant and editor of Green Talk, the panel shared their experiences on how children best learn about nature and the resources and techniques teachers can use to get students engaged and excited.
