Boat races, an alligator skull, weather maps and a banana - these were some of the tools used to help fourth graders in Early County, Georgia, better understand the important role that water plays in their lives. It was all part of the annual Water Ways Festival sponsored by Georgia-Pacific’s Cedar Springs, Georgia, containerboard mill. More than 200 students participated in this year’s festival, held at Kolomoki Mounds State Park. Among other things, they learned about water conservation, the use of water in agriculture and making paper as well as the importance of water to their personal health.
