A large consumer packaged goods manufacturer of juice beverages wanted to cut costs and improve the bottom line. What they got was a packaging solution and more.
 

Innovative Packaging Solution:

The Georgia-Pacific PSO™ team found a solution that uncovered system-wide opportunities to improve the packaging, shipping and receiving processes with the following improvements:

bullet Redesign the beverage pouch master shipper to snap lock/bottom lock top, which eliminates taping
bullet Add banding pads to incoming unit load of trays, which eliminates strapping
bullet Redesign trays to make them smaller
bullet Use lighter weight corrugated material
bullet Reduce web width on shrink film up to 3 ½”
bullet Add corner post applicator to reduce damage
