Supplier Diversity - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I qualify to be registered in GP's Supplier Diversity Program as a diverse supplier?
Make sure that your business can be defined as a Certified Diverse Business and can meet GP's procurement needs as identified by the types of products and services GP buys (see What We Buy).

What forms do I need to submit to GP to enter the program?
If you would like to register with Georgia Pacific as a new supplier and have not created a login in the past, complete the Supplier Registration Process.
If you already have a login, access the Supplier Profile Update page to change your profile information.

How will I know if my registration has been received by GP?
Once your registration has been successfully submitted, you will receive an email notification.

What happens next after your office has received my completed registration?
Our category managers and buyers will view your company information when they are actively pursuing vendors to participate in their sourcing initiatives. Sourcing initiatives are ongoing at GP, depending on the various needs of our business throughout a given year. Certain products or services may not be actively sourced until the business decision is made.

What are the next steps if my company is selected to participate in a sourcing initiative?
If your company is selected to participate in a sourcing initiative, you will screened by our category managers or buyers to see if there is a match between your company's core capabilities and our procurement needs, and invited to submit an RFI or RFP.

May I contact the category managers and buyers directly to make them aware that I've submitted my company's information to GP's supplier diversity office?
Our supplier diversity office works directly with the category managers and buyers to advise them of the certified diverse businesses who've registered as potential vendors with our program. The office works closely with the category managers and buyers to introduce these qualified diverse businesses into our sourcing process. Therefore, we request that your business work closely with our supplier diversity office and not directly contact our category managers or internal buyers.

I've registered with GP's Supplier Diversity Office, why haven't I been contacted to participate in a sourcing initiative?
If your company has not been contacted to participate in a procurement activity it could be that the particular product or service your company provides is not currently being sourced or a match was not found between our procurement needs and your company's capabilities. If you have questions on the status of your company within our procurement activities, please contact us for further information (please see the Contact Us section).

How can my business become certified as a diverse supplier and register in Georgia-Pacific's Supplier Diversity Program?
As Georgia-Pacific only accepts certified diverse businesses in its program, your business will need to be certified as a diverse business through specific diverse supplier organizations. Please see the Accepted Certifying Agencies section for more information.

The submission of a completed supplier profile form and certifying documents to Georgia-Pacific does not constitute an offer of business or award to any company. It does, however, ensure that your company information is included in our database for future reference and utilization during procurement activities.
