From Students
“Market Day was definitely the highlight of the first semester. It was in this that we were allowed to display all the information and skills that we learned. All of the marketing negotiations and retail skills were put to the test with the potential to gain or lose money. We all lived for this.”
Junior at Benjamin E. Mays High School
“Market Day was very exciting because it gave the class a chance to see what it is like to really run a profitable business for a day. Though everything did not go as well as we would have liked, the day was still an overall success.”
Junior at Benjamin E. Mays High School
“Market Day was an opportunity to learn. I liked the fact that we made money. This was an opportunity to expand my knowledge.”

“The Dare to Dream program was also a great experience for me. Dare to Dream was a great opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs outside of the school. I also learned a lot about credit and managing credit. I also got a rare chance to adopt some skills from an extremely talented and successful inventor. This was yet another spectacular YE-Atl Event.”

“Mr. Markell’s story about how he started his company was interesting. Even though he had two businesses that failed, he eventually had one that became successful. It taught me to never give up on me.”
