The support of the local business community is key to the success of Youth Entrepreneurs™ of Atlanta (YE-Atl). Although the program is fully funded by Georgia-Pacific LLC, there is no substitute for the expertise, training and real-life stories local entrepreneurs and business professionals bring to the program.
We have a number of ways you or your business can get involved in guiding young people to think like a business owner.
Ways to support the program
- Guest Speakers
Who can help a student understand the trials and triumphs of an entrepreneur better than someone who has actually lived it? Our guest speakers are business owners or professionals who share their experiences and expertise to bring the classroom lessons to life. YE-Atl teachers invite guest speakers into their classrooms monthly to enhance the learning experience in an interactive and captivating manner.
- Advisors
Advisors visit the classroom regularly (preferably once a week) during the second semester to assist students with the development of their business plans. They help the students identify and fill gaps in their plan prior to completion and submission for the competition
- Summer Partnerships
YE-Atl graduates are eligible to participate in our summer partnership program. Area businesses select graduates to join them in exciting learning activities. The YE-Atl graduates learn about every aspect of the business and are given meaningful opportunities to network, develop vital professional skills and grow personally in the process.
Help YE-Atl graduates continue to develop an entrepreneurial mindset by hosting a student intern. Businesses will select graduates to join them in exciting learning activities. In return graduates will receive meaningful work experience, network opportunities, and develop vital professional skills.
- Dare to Dream - Professional Development Event
Every entrepreneurial venture starts with a dream. At YE-Atl, we encourage our students to dream big. That's why we host an event that motivates them to reach for the stars and gives them the tools to make their dreams come true.
Dare to Dream is a professional development event that offers students the chance to network with one another, hear from a motivational speaker and participate in educational break-out sessions. If you are interested in serving as a motivational guest speaker or panelist during educational break-out sessions please contact us.
- Local Business Site Visit
During Wholesale Day, which is when the students visit a local wholesaler to purchase products and supplies for Market Day, the class also visits 1-2 local businesses to learn about their industry, operations, and product or service. If you are a business owner or employee of a business that would be interested in hosting students for a site visit please contact us.
