As part of a shared commitment to promote entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, Georgia-Pacific and Black Enterprise (BE) teamed up at the BE Golf and Tennis Challenge in beautiful Palm Beach, Florida during Labor Day weekend. The tournament served as a great backdrop for conversations about the importance of wealth management, financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the event served as an opportunity to educate many of the attendees about the many household brands and products they use in their daily lives that are manufactured by Georgia-Pacific.
Known as one of the premier African American networking events in the country, Georgia-Pacific sponsored the golf clinic segment, which brings together a rich mix of top corporate executives and business leaders. “In many circles, golf is the preferred game of business, in part because resources are exchanged based on relationships and golf provides the right pace and environment to build relationships," said Scott D. Brown, community affairs manager at Georgia-Pacific, who participated in the clinic.
PGA professional Rodney Green provided hands-on instruction to more than 80 participants during the clinic. Whether attendees were brushing up on their swing or holding a golf club for the first time, the clinic was a fun way to hone a useful skill while establishing connections.
