GP salutes Joe Ertolacci, a former U.S. Navy engineer and current vice president of manufacturing at our Camas, Wash., facility.
On Wednesday, November 11, the National Veterans Day ceremony will begin with a wreath being laid at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. This annual ritual honors all who served in the United States Armed Forces, and reminds us that freedom is not free.
At Georgia-Pacific we want to take time to recognize and thank our colleagues who are veterans, and all the service men and women in our lives. And while Veterans Day is a moment to recognize the sacrifices of those who have bravely served and continue to serve in the military, we also want to honor their service all year long.
That’s why we are encouraging our friends, family and our communities to be a part of a movement to “salute a vet.” The salute is a powerful gesture of respect and a signal that acknowledges the bravery of our military.
Please help us salute our veterans by sharing a story, image or video, or by simply writing a quick word of thanks online with the hashtag: #SALUTEaVET. We’re sharing several of our employee stories here on our SALUTEaVET website.
To all veterans, we thank you for your service and sacrifice in the name of protecting our freedom – today and every day.
