It’s that time of year again – fall festivals, football season, and it’s World Teachers' Day! October 5 is a special day to recognize the important role our teachers play in our lives.
This is also an important time for students to continue their academic momentum and school supplies are a much needed tool for success. No one understands the role school supplies play in the classroom like the Kids in Need Foundation (KINF), a nonprofit organization that Georgia-Pacific teamed up with that provides free school supplies nationally to children in need.
We are proud to have recently donated $30,000 to KINF for teacher grants in our facility communities. The Kids In Need Foundation’s Teacher Grants program is dedicated to empowering educators with funding to conduct innovative learning experiences.
As the National Paper Sponsor for the organization, Georgia-Pacific is committed to supporting education and enriching local communities across the nation. As you might imagine, paper is one of the most common requests from teachers that are served by the KINF and Georgia-Pacific is also honored to cover that need. We know that when kids have what they need to study and learn, they are far more likely to succeed.
Today and every day, we thank all the teachers in our lives who are setting up our children for success!
