Watch how Georgia-Pacific partners with disaster relief organization Convoy of Hope to help supply essential items like toilet paper, paper towels and paper plates to communities in need.

Updated 8/30:
As the destruction from Hurricane Harvey continues in South Texas and parts of Louisiana, we remain concerned for the safety of our colleagues, families and friends in the storm’s path.

To aid in the relief efforts, Georgia-Pacific products are being distributed through Convoy of Hope (COH), a national disaster relief organization. COH works with FEMA and other aid organizations to determine what’s most needed on the ground and determine the best way to deliver supplies. To-date, approximately 20 truckloads valued at $100,000 in product, including bath tissue, paper towels, cups, plates and bowls, is being delivered through COH for storm victims.

Additionally, efforts are ongoing to confirm the safety and security of all employees and their families, many of whom have experienced extensive damage to personal property. Georgia-Pacific's facilities in eastern Texas and western Louisiana are currently functional.

To help vital recovery efforts, Georgia-Pacific's parent company Koch Industries is also committing more than $1 million to organizations providing immediate and long-term disaster relief, including the American Red CrossThe Salvation Armythe Center for Disaster Philanthropy and the Emergency Assistance Foundation.

Koch has also contributed $250,000 to establish the Koch Employee Assistance Fund with the Emergency Assistance Foundation. This fund is designed to aid employees who have suffered losses, and it also accepts direct contributions from employees. You can make a donation to the Koch Employee Assistance fund here

We hope everyone in the storm’s path remains safe. If you’d like to donate to Convoy of Hope, text the word CONVOY to 50555 to support people in need, or go to their webpage here. Check out Convoy’s up-to-the-minute update on their response to Hurricane Harvey here.
