Through the JumpStart Program, rising Juniors and Seniors in college fine tune their fundamental business skills while gaining exposure to many facets of the business from sales and marketing, to finance and category. What is the JumpStart Full‐Time Training Program?

Based in Atlanta, GA, the JumpStart Full‐Time Training Program includes two segments: The 12‐week Core Program and the 3‐9‐month Cross Functional Rotations.

The 12‐week Core Program focuses on core business and capability training where participants take a deep dive into the GP PRO business, segments we sell into, and bundle product assortments. In the JumpStart program, you will gain organizational connectivity, work on a strategic project aligned with key business needs, and create simulated sales proposals utilizing insights and in‐market visits.

Following the 12‐week core training is the 3-9-month Cross Functional Rotation in the following business capabilities: Category, Pricing, Virtual Sales, Field Sales, Marketing and E‐commerce. Rotations average 4 weeks per capability and include classroom training, side‐by‐side shadowing, temporary role placement and project work enhancing role productivity and creating value for our business capabilities. Through these rotations, JumpStarters will be exposed to various capabilities to help enhance cross‐functional knowledge and connectivity in preparation for deployment into Sales.

What’s Next?

Following the completion and/or during the 3‐9‐month Cross Functional Rotations, JumpStarters will transition into a permanent Sales role within GP PRO.  Opportunities include roles in:

Field Sales Account Executive:

  • Opportunity to relocate to a sales territory including: Boston, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, New York City, Phoenix, San Francisco, Southern California, or Washington D.C. among others
  • Support district sales team to develop and manage annual growth plans with strategic distributor customers
  • Partner with key strategic end users to create demand for GP products
  • Support local sales efforts of non-assigned Distributor Sales Reps (DSRs) through end‐user activity within a primary segment of focus

Virtual Sales Representative:

Interested in building virtual relationships? This might be for you!

  • Profitably growing our business on our Atlanta based sales team by selling via phone, email, video, and chat
  • Selling directly to end‐user customers, as well as indirectly supporting sales through our distributor partners
  • Project work with various cross-functional teams across the division

Do you have what it takes to be considered for JumpStart?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree completed upon starting the program
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Willingness to relocate to Atlanta, GA
  • Valid US Driver's License (Field Sales only)
  • Willingness to relocate to other U.S. cities (Field Sales only)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in athletic programs, student government, community service, or other organizations 
  • Prior exposure to problem solving, project management, negotiations or conflict resolution
  • Experience presenting at conferences, organizational meetings or other professional settings

What is the JumpStart Internship Program?

The JumpStart internship program is a unique, 9-week paid program with a formalized training curriculum designed to maximize participation so that interns gain enhanced fundamental business skills. The program places emphasis on sales strategy and technique offering exposure to a variety of other business areas. Throughout the program, interns will be exposed to various capabilities.

You may be wondering, “What’s in it for Me”

Based out of Atlanta, GA, this paid engagement includes:

  • 9-week summer internship at GP headquarters in Atlanta, GA
  • 9-week paid housing
  • Project work aligned with strategic business needs
  • Exposure to business leaders, customers, Distribution Centers, and cross-functional teams
  • Deep dive into the GP PRO business, segments we sell into, and bundle product assortments
  • Simulated sales proposals utilizing insights and in-market visits
  • Introduction to Market Based Management (MBM®), GP’s holistic approach to management and the company’s culture

The GP PRO JumpStart internship is primarily intended for students who are within 1-2 years of completing a business-related degree at an accredited college or university. High-performing JumpStart interns will be considered, upon graduation, for full-time employment in the JumpStart Full-Time Training program! This offer is conditional based on individual intern performance and business need.
