With renowned brands such as Quilted Northern® and Angel Soft® tissues, Brawny® and Sparkle® paper towels, and Dixie® tabletop products, it’s estimated that at least one Georgia-Pacific consumer product is used in 85 percent of homes nationwide.
Before these brands are welcomed into each household, it takes an experienced team of supply chain professionals to make the process possible. The collaborative team is involved with demand, production and distribution planning; mill and facility operations; transportation contract negotiations and operations; warehousing and logistics operations; strategic sourcing; procurement and more.
GP’s Summer Supply Chain internship program is designed for students interested in applying their supply chain classroom knowledge in a challenging, fast-paced work setting. The summer interns are placed into a specific area of supply chain specialty, including but not limited to procurement operations, strategic sourcing, or transportation logistics. During the summer program, interns are encouraged to build a professional network among GP’s other supply chain divisions and other business sectors to gain a high-level understanding of the end-to-end supply chain as it related to our manufacturing operations.

GP’s 6-month supply chain internship program spans the duration of one semester of school (either late-May –November, or January- May), and offers real-world application for the supply chain knowledge you have gained in the classroom. You will be placed into one of our supply chain management organizations, including but not limited to strategic sourcing, transportation logistics, warehousing logistics, supply/demand planning, supply chain analytics, or procurement operations. 6-Month interns will gain a deep understanding of the end-to-end supply chain as it relates to GP’s manufacturing operations through job shadowing, mentorship, deep dives, and even field trips!
