Employees and Georgia-Pacific Donate A Combined $350,000 For La. Floods

Georgia‐Pacific employees in Zachary, La., receive flood relief supplies from fellow employees in Hattiesburg, Miss. Contributions from company employees and Georgia‐Pacific combined have totaled more than $350,000 for the flood relief effort.

Our hearts go out to the thousands of people in southeast Louisiana who are dealing with the major flood disaster in the area. In particular, we're saddened by the hundreds of our employees from our Port Hudson operations who have suffered losses – some of whom lost everything.

To help with the flood relief efforts, we have made a charitable donation of $50,000 to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation Flood Relief Fund to support local service providers who are providing aid.

In addition, we have set up the Georgia‐Pacific Employees Assistance Fund with the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. We will match up to $50,000 in contributions to this relief fund from employees of GP, or any other Koch company, and contributions will go directly to help our coworkers.

Since this flood disaster began, Convoy of Hope, our ongoing partner for distributing GP products in disaster areas, has sent numerous truckloads into the area and plans to continue working with FEMA to expand distribution to other areas for weeks to come. We've also sent emergency supplies to help our coworkers and their families as they clean up and start the rebuilding process.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Port Hudson team as they begin cleaning up the flood damage and face the challenge of rebuilding homes and communities. Louisiana is home to more than 1,000 GP employees, and another 800 employees of other Koch companies.
