Starting the Conversation: The Opioid Crisis

Community

Every town, city, and suburb in the United States is impacted by the opioid epidemic.

Georgia-Pacific recognizes that the personal lives of employees don’t stop at the doors of their facility. Making changes within the community all starts with a conversation.

The latest segment of the Starting the Conversation series featured the opioid crisis in America.

Opioid addiction affects millions around the world and their families. There is no demographic that has not been touched by the opioid epidemic, it impacts people of all ages, genders, orientations, ethnicities, classes, and professions. The Opioid Epidemic claims 130 American lives daily.

During the Starting the Conversation series held here at GP Headquarters, an employee, Terie Rives, was brave enough to share an intense heartfelt story about her son’s struggle with opioid addiction.

See Terie’s story in the video above and if you or anyone else needs help, please contact the National Opioids Helpline at 1-800-662-4357.
