In 2006, Tye Darland joined Georgia-Pacific from Koch Industries as senior vice president and general counsel. He leads a team of more than 60 attorneys within the company and his legal specialties include mergers and acquisitions and commercial law. Tye received both his undergraduate degree in accounting and his juris doctorate degree from the University of Iowa. He and his wife fund scholarships at Georgia State University, University of Iowa and Vanderbilt. Active in the Atlanta community, Tye serves on the board of Zoo Atlanta, the Federalist Society and the Atlanta Police Foundation. In addition, he’s a member of the board of Visitors for Georgia State University, Board of Law. He was appointed to the Judicial Nominating Commissions by Governor Sonny Perdue from 2008–2010 and is a past chairman of the AF&PA General Counsel’s Resource Committee.
