The Ontario (Canada) Toxics Reduction Act of 2009 aims to protect the health of people and the environment by reducing the amount of toxic substances emitted at the source. The act requires regulated facilities to track and quantify the toxic substances used and created, to develop plans to reduce the use and creation of these substances. The act also requires summaries of reduction plans be made available to the public.
